Closing down the house last night (turning off lights and tv, closing the fans, etc.), I came across this brief and tender moment between my daughter and dog and by pure chance had my camera in hand. I knew that once Emily heard me it would all be over. Two quick snaps is all I got. There is a lot of talk in photography about the decisive moment, but all too often it is an excuse for blurry or underexposed images. While this photo is both, it is to me the essence of a decisive moment; one that I may never see again in this context especially with a camera in my hand.
It is beautiful. Not just for the image itself but for the feeling it conveys.
Thank you, Michael, it was a special moment that only happens when no one is watching (except dad with his camera).
Magic.
